Changed The Template To Improve Readability

YES, THE SITE LOOKS QUITE DIFFERENT.
I recieved comment regarding how some colors are difficult to read.  So I thought I would play around a little with the template feature of the blog spot to make things more readable.

This is something we can play with at our next meeting when we can all see and comment on proposed changes.

SCAT Club Meeting January 19th, 2011

SCAT Members: We will meet at our usual time (10:00 a.m.) on January 19, but not in our usual venue, due to the renovation happening on the main floor during January and February. Instead, we'll meet in the downstairs area (like a daylight basement) accessible around the east side of the building. If you are unfamiliar with that area, just follow the large footprint signs on the walkway to the south side of the clubhouse. (The walkway is steep, but there's a handrail to use.) I'll have my key, if the doors are locked.

These instructions are primarily for our SCAT members who aren't Summerfield residents or for visitors who would like to check out our club. Visitors are always welcome.

Credit Card Skimmers Are Active Near Us

On 09/18/10, a skimmer was placed on a Bank of America ATM at Washington Square mall in Tigard, Oregon.
On 09/19/10 and 09/26/10, Skimming devices were placed on the outside ATMs at the branch located at 10201 SE Washington Street Portland Oregon

How Skimmers Work
There are two big ways criminals use credit card skimmers to steal your information:

* The scammer installs a skimmer on an ATM or self-serve kiosk and captures your card information when you swipe your card at the kiosk. Sometimes the machine still works, and you never know anything is wrong. Sometimes the skimmer disables the machine, but you’ll just assume it’s out of order and move on.
* Or, they get a hold of your credit card and skim your card manually (an easy racket for an unscrupulous waiter who could do this when you hand over your card to pay the bill).
