Topics for the June meetings of the Summerfield Computer and Technology (SCAT) Club are:

Informal meetings are open to residents, visitors, and anyone interested in computers and related technology. Meetings are held in the Conference Room of the Clubhouse at 10:30 AM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Meetings last for an hour and, as usual, there is always time for questions and discussion.

World IPv6 Day

Today, June 8, 2011, Google, Facebook, Yahoo, and other organizations will offer their content over IPv6 for a 24-hour “test flight”. The current IPv4 technology is running out of addresses, so it will be updated to IPv6. The goal of the Test Flight Day is to motivate Internet service providers, hardware makers, operating system vendors and web companies to ensure a successful transition as IPv4 addresses run out.
